If you're a first-time visitor at Wesdorf Chiropractic, you'll need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.
A bit of paperwork
We will need you to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. Our staff is happy to begin the paperwork for you over the phone, and assist you when you come in to the office. You may also request the paperwork to be sent to you ahead by Email or fax.
Consultation and History
During your first consultation with Dr. Wesdorf, you'll discuss your health-related issues and concerns, and how they are affecting your life. In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition.
A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which part of the body are affected and to what extent.
We use a Computerized Spinal Analysis which includes a Thermal scan and a Surface EMG to measure the function of your nervous system. It is a non-invasive test that will typically be repeated every 12-15 visits to help monitor your progress.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you. We feature in-office digital X-rays, which provide less radiation and better clarity. Included with each set of X-rays is a complete Chiropractic Radiological Report.
Patients may undergo an area-specific treatment on their first visit after the examination and x-rays are completed. This would include spinal adjustments and home instructions. However, most patients will receive their first full adjustment on the second visit after their information, examination and X-rays have been studied, analyzed, and a report of findings has been compiled.
Before leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, increased water intake, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.
Scheduling the next appointment
Regular treatments are essential to the process. Generally speaking, patients are seen 2-3 times before we provide a complete Report of Findings and a Recommended Care Plan. Treatment recommendations will be discussed and finding you a convenient time for your appointments will be a priority.
Payment and Insurance
Payment is expected at the time of service. Some insurance plans cover chiropractic care. We are happy to bill your insurance and help you get reimbursed for your out of pocket expenses. We want all our patients to receive the best treatment possible. Please visit our F.A.Q. page for more information and our office insurance policies.
